Varicose Veins

During my pregnancy, I had slight symptoms of pain near my knees and my doctor said it is due to Varicose veins and advised me to keep my legs rested at a level higher than the ground preferably on a small stool or so. I hadn’t heard of varicose so far. So the Goddess Google helped me get some insights on this. Varicose veins are enlarged, swollen, and twisting veins, often appearing blue or dark purple. Most surprising is varicose veins seems to like women more than men. Chronic venous insufficiency leads to eczema and ulcers which needs deeper and intense medical attention.

Easy way to get relief and prevent the aggravation of varicose veins is to wear supportive stockings regularly. They are effective in controlling symptoms and preventing further skin complications. Studies show that wearing stockings are a reliable method to avoid the need for surgery in the majority of cases. Ayy.. time to buy matching stockings, now that there is a solid reason to do so. Women are strong and take things boldly without making it more complicated. I have heard one of my colleague saying that she shops when she is depressed!! <winks!> More than worrying about the illness we find ways to keep ourselves happy by focusing our attention elsewhere unlike men! I just went off topic and this itself is a separate and deep topic to discuss in length. As always walking is the best way to keep ourselves fit and avoid such problems, Adding Barley in the food avoids excess retention of water in the body helping flush out toxins and keep the veins happy without giving them much pressure.

This is probably one the conditions where a person need not worry about its presence until it causes discomfort, pain and cosmetically appear as a bad skin on the legs. Varicose veins is not dangerous and at the same time as a health factor, we need to be watchful for any kind of swollen area or skin discoloration near the knees and legs as a precaution. Walk for a better health and drink water for a better body is the mantra for the current lifestyles!
